Prof. Nuno and VIS Team successfully organizes IbPRIA 2025

VIS Team and ISR-UC have proudly organized the 12th Iberian Conference on Pattern Recognition and Image Analysis (IbPRIA 2025), held from June 30 to July 03 in Coimbra. The event brought together researchers, academics, and industry professionals from across the globe to discuss cutting-edge advancements in pattern recognition, computer vision, and artificial intelligence.

With 67 high-quality papers presented by enthusiastic authors, IbPRIA 2025 attracted more than 100 participants from Portugal, Spain, and several other countries across four continents.

The four-day program featured:

  • A Doctoral Consortium supporting early-career researchers
  • 4 insightful tutorials
  • 4 outstanding keynote lectures by renowned experts: Christoph Busch, João Filipe Henriques, Antonio M. López, and Filipe Rodrigues
  • Engaging oral and poster sessions
  • Memorable social events, fostering collaboration and networking

Following the conference, the several scientific outputs will be gathered on the following publications:

📖 Book of Extended Abstracts (Doctoral Consortium) – Now available here.
📚 Conference Proceedings – The 67 full-papers will be published in a 2-parts Springer’s Lecture Notes in Computer Science (LNCS) series, with expected availability in August 2025.
🔍 Special Issue on IbPRIA 2025 – A selection of top papers will be invited to submit extended versions for publication in this Springer journal Pattern Analysis and Applications. Check here the journal page.

This success of the conference was only possible thanks to the dedication of all chairs, organization committee, volunteers and the exceptional team of Hotel Quinta das Lágrimas.

After an inspiring edition in Coimbra, the next IbPRIA 2027 will take place in Barcelona, continuing to push the frontiers of knowledge in pattern recognition and image analysis.
