Four papers presented @ IbPRIA 2025

Researchers from VIS Team presented four papers during the IbPRIA 2025 conference in Coimbra (June 30 – July 3). This is a strong achievement, as only 67 out of 115 submitted papers were accepted (a 58% acceptance rate).

All papers underwent rigorous review by at least three experts before being selected for the conference. They will be published in Springer Lecture Notes in Computer Science series.

The accepted papers and their presenters were:

  1. Ajnas Muhammed presented “Federated Learning for Secure and Privacy-Preserving Facial Recognition: Advances, Challenges, and Research Directions” (Oral Session).
  2. André Neto presented “Pseudo-MOS Learning: A Hybrid Full-to-No-Reference FIQA Framework” (Oral Session).
  3. Carlos Roxo presented “How LLMs See People” (Poster Session).
  4. Miguel Leão presented “On the Use of Implicit Representations for Deepfake Detection” (Poster Session).

Furthermore, VIS Team PhD students (Farhad Shadmand, Iurii Medvedev and Miguel Leão) also showcased their ongoing research in the Doctoral Consortium of the conference.

Iurii Medvedev with his work entitled “Robustness of Deep Learning Based Face Recognition Under Morphing Attacks” has received the Best Doctoral Consortium Award!

This success highlights the high quality of research being done by the VIS Team.
